ISTP 9s becoming ISTP 5s

I recently tested on an Enneatype test that previously gave me a marginal result of a 9. Now it gives me a not-so-marginal result of 5, with 9 coming in second.

Old order of Enneatypes: 9-5-3-6-1-7-4-2-8
New order of Enneatypes: 5-9-3-1-6-7-4-2-8

Same wings and everything (new tritype of 5w6, 9w1, 3w4), and I'm still anti-8.

I've noted that Khys and madhatter have joined the club, and DJ became 8w9 from 9w8. Any other ISTP 9s that have become 5s or any other Enneatype?

...Is this satire?

I'm a 9w8 and I'm sticking with it.

I'm 1337, and as far as I'm concerned that's as good as it gets in the number game.

Facebook scored me as an ISFP once, but it also scored me as an INTJ and ISTJ so I take that with a grain of salt.

I was never a 9w8.

I thought you were a 9w8 a long time ago, but after some thorough reasoning, you decided on 8w9, thinking it fits you better (and I can't disagree).

Probably the best I can make of those types is ISTJ with a very well-developed Fi (and maybe Ne).

Those tests are actually why I got into MBTI in the first place. I wanted to prove them wrong.

The enneagram tests aren't reliable IMO. You really need to read a couple of descriptions.

Hmm, subtle differences;

If I may ask;
how are your mood / feelings / circumstances in those two times you're taking the test?

I find that differences in mood/feelings will subtly alter the way we see things / deal with things, which could affect how you answer these questions;

Perhaps they are more 'you in situation X' rather than 'you in general?'
Or alternatively, when you're stressed out enough, your enneagram can change?

That probably explains my mistype as a 9. Not sure about the indifference factor though. If 5s can be about as indifferent as 9s then I'm most definitely a 5.

I don't think indifference is correlated to a specific type, per se. Different types would have different reasons for being indifferent. So, I think 5s can be pretty indifferent. Some profiles describe 5s at unhealthy levels as nihilistic, which to me embodies indifference. I often struggle with apathy myself, although I've never been a nihilist.

For me, I think people thought I was a 9 because I generally functioned as a "calming influence." Often trying to mediate drama and settle arguments. People probably thought I was concerned with Peace and other people's feelings.

The real reason I act like a peacemaker at times is because I'm uncomfortable with other people's emotions. I don't like seeing people fight, because I don't feel like I can adequately deal with their emotional reactions. Typical type 5.

That's an excellent way to put it. The way I always thought of it, I just don't want to waste my energy to deal with people's shit. I too am uncomfortable with extreme emotional expression.

exaaactly. We end up looking like 9s because people think we're not selfish. Haha!

If they only knew! I think people think we're not selfish because 1) we have very few needs and 2) we never want to ask for help.

Everyone is self centered. It just comes out in different ways and sometimes looks altruistic.

ENFJ's give so they can feel good about themselves. (This should also tell you how good I feel about myself, lol)
ESTJ's tell everyone they're selfish cuz they're not in the military serving their country like they are, because ESTJ's don't want to feel useless.
INFJ's tell everyone they're not as selfless as they are cuz they're out helping the homeless or whatever, because it makes them energized.

etc.

I used to get furious with the ESTJ's for saying shit like that to me. "You're quitting the navy for selfish reasons!" yeah whatever, retard.
