Ne vs Se. Ni vs Si
I read a book in socionics that described the functions Ne and Se that I felt were really awesome descriptions.
In a nutshell:
Se = scanning that which is observable
Ne = Scanning that which is not observable.
Ni = Seeing what could become based on what is observable
Si = Seeing what has become right now based on previous information???
Thoughts? I didn't see the description of Si.

The way I see Si...the Si-user's perception of reality equals reality, while with Se, observable reality is reality.

It is.
Just gotta make sure your reality is stronger than the other's, that's the whole trick.
Practically there are as many realities as there are perceptions, philosophically speaking.
Fortunately for me, only mine matters.

How so? MBTI doesn't really make distinctions in cognitive functions at all. It's just S v. N, and rather one dimensional.

It has Se Si Ne Ni too okay?! No but really.
In MBTI
Ni is some self righteous symbol following cognitive function not one that is able to perceive future possibilities.
Ne works with abstractions of the observable environment to create fundamental knowledge.
Se works to observe the environment and understands its knowledge as pure facts, uninterested in putting their bets on recurrence and patterns.
Si is obsessed with how things were. lol comparing the past with the present and really hoping to keep some key structures the same.
Half of this was out of my ass but I hope it's agreeable.
